Francis Kweku Osei is a seasoned and talented Drummer and Percussionist. Drumming has been and will continue to be an integral part of his existence. Growing up, Francis always aspired to be the world’s famous drummer. At the age of 4, he started playing percussions or the conga for churches in Cape Coast, the capital city of the Central Region of Ghana, until he started drumming for Ciltad Agoro Project the age of 7. He worked with them as their chief drummer for 2 years. After that, he continued playing for other churches and bands till he moved to Accra, the Capital city of the Greater Accra Region at the age of 17.
In Accra, where Francis currently resides, he has been fortunate enough to play for Tagoe Sisters (Award-winning gospel musicians) and Afro Moses (based in Australia) during his concert in Bahrain, Saudi Arabia. Francis has also played with Sekou Kouyate, Monique Seka (France), Hugh Masakela (South Africa), and Osibisa band, among others.
Because of his hard work and consistency in rehearsing every day, Francis has been able to master the art of playing all genre of music. He has played for some of Ghana’s legendary hi-life artistes including Kojo Antwi, Pat Thomas, Rex Omar, Jewel Ackah as well as popular hip life artistes like Samini, Sarkodie, Efya, and Becca ( for 2 years). Francis has also recorded and played for Steve Bedi, Ghana’s finest saxophonist, Cwesi Oteng (Ghanaian Gospel musician of the year for 2012), Sonnie Badu (UK), among others.
Right after Francis’s contract ended with Becca’s band, he joined Ohia b3y3 ya band as their drummer for 3 years where we played for T.V reality shows like Stars of the Future seasons 2, 3 and 4 and Vodafone Icons (Mixed Edition).
